About AMG
…such an excellent value, in terms of performance for the price, meticulous build quality and timeless style…
AMG turntables are some of the world’s best, made with precision and care by Julian Lorenzi, son of company founder Werner Roeschlau, in his bespoke factory just outside Nuremburg in the south of Germany. With the aid of his partner Carola and his team of highly skilled workers, Julian oversees the construction of every component of his high performance line of analog products, including turntables, tonearms, and other analog accessories. Over the last 10 years, AMG has grown from a small, under-the-radar turntable manufacturer to an award-winning industry leader for high-end analog. Sierra Sound is honored to partner with AMG as their US distributor.
Shown above is a diagram of the AMG Viella turntable, the first product offered in the US under the AMG brand name. It remains a staple of the AMG lineup and an analog audio benchmark, combining beauty, craftsmanship, and reference-level performance.

AMG’s turntable lineup consists of three main models, the Forte, the Viella, and the Giro.
The AMG Forte is the new flagship reference-level offering from AMG. Including all of the design features of the acclaimed Viella, the Forte expands on these designs by offering a higher mass platter, improved power supply, and super-massive plinth milled from solid 70mm thick aluminum billet. The entire turntable weighs in at over 100lbs- a rock solid platform for ultimate audio performance.
The Viella is the heart of the AMG lineup, the longest standing and most popular AMG design. Unique design characteristics include AMG’s oil-damped high mass bearing, with integrated subplatter, allowing for the Viella’s massive aluminum platter and spindle to be decoupled from any sources of vibration. It’s high torque, servo-controlled DC motor and ergonomic capacitive touch speed controls make the Viella a pleasure to operate, and an even greater treat to listen to.
The Giro is AMG’s entry level offering, a starkly beautiful minimalist design which offers performance well above its price range. The Giro design is currently undergoing an overhaul, and a new and improved version is expected in early 2022.
