About Sierra Sound
Michael and Sylvia Fajen founded Sierra Sound in May 2020 as a boutique distribution company focusing exclusively on high-end analog products. Initially conceived as a company that would focus on phono cartridge installation and turntable setup service, the coronavirus pandemic quickly made an in-home, service-based business model less attractive. Having well over a decade of experience in the home audio industry allowed a pivot to distribution, starting with Sierra Sound becoming US distributor for Benz Micro Switzerland after a long absence of the product in the USA. Shortly after, Sierra Sound became distributor for ViV Laboratory and their line of Rigid Float tonearms and other impressive analog products. With the addition of turntables from award winning German company Analog Manufaktur Germany (AMG) in 2021, Sierra Sound's lineup of world-class analog audio products is now complete.
“Vinyl has been the media of choice for us both since childhood, and upon meeting we bonded over our love of listening to and collecting records. In addition to our love of analog audio, we are both musicians; Sylvia a drummer, and Michael a guitarist and recording engineer. Our experience in the recording studio has provided us a unique perspective on sound and a deep understanding of the the tonal and spatial elements that are the building blocks of recorded audio. Sharing our love of music is our driving goal and motivation, and we feel extremely lucky to be able to do what we do for a living.
Sierra Sound strives for the best in customer service and support for all our products, and to apply the spirit of our initial service-based model to our work as distributor for the best analog audio brands from around the world. Our goal is to see that the hobby of analog audio thrives and grows at all levels, so that everyone can experience the same level of joy we do when listening to our favorite records on a finely tuned analog system.”
