AMG turntables are some of the world’s best…

…made with precision and care by Julian Lorenzi in his bespoke factory just outside Nuremburg in the south of Germany. With the aid of his partner Carola and his team of highly skilled workers, Julian oversees the construction of every component of his high performance line of analog products, including turntables, tonearms, and other analog accessories. Over the last 10 years AMG has grown from a small, under-the-radar turntable manufacturer to an award-winning industry leader offering products that are on the cutting edge of performance and style.

TURNTABLEs

FORTE

AMG‘s flagship- the ultimate in turntable design. Ultra-high mass 105 lb structure machined out of single-piece aluminum billet provides the most stable platform possible, allowing motor, bearing, tonearm, and upgraded dual-material platter to function with complete mechanical silence and precision. The Forte offers a truly reference-level listening experience, with palpable dynamic impact, holographic imaging, and the perfect balance of tonal warmth and accuracy.

  • -Ultra massive plinth machined from solid aluminum billet, 70 mm thick and and over 50 lbs

-Massive 2-piece platter, 31lb and 87mm thick, composed of aircraft grade aluminum and larger integrated PVC mat

-Improved 24V outboard linear power supply with voltage filtering and upgraded transformer, housed in heavy aluminum chassis

-Housings for bearing, motor, and feet are all directly machined into the solid plinth for ultimate rigidity

-Forte clamp, a more massive version of the standard AMG reflex clamp

    -12JT Turbo tonearm included

-Optional Fortissimo arm base for adding additional 12" or 9" AMG tonearms

    -Dimensions: 20 5/8″ x 9″ x 12 7/16″, Total weight 106 lbs

VIELLA

The Viella is the heart of the AMG lineup, the longest standing and most popular AMG design. Unique characteristics include AMG’s oil-damped high mass bearing with integrated subplatter, allowing for the Viella’s massive aluminum platter and spindle to fully decouple from any sources of vibration. Its high-torque, servo-controlled DC motor and ergonomic capacitive touch speed controls make the Viella a pleasure to operate, and an even greater treat to listen to.

  • -Massive 24lb, 73mm thick platter composed of solid aircraft grade aluminum with integrated PVC mat

-Acoustically decoupled 24v ultra-quiet brushless motor

-20mm steel bearing axle and hydrodynamic lubricated bearing

    -24V outboard linear power supply

-Speed adjustable 33, 45, and 78 RPM operation

-Mechanically isolated bearing and spindle interface

    -Integrated bubble level in plinth

-12J2 or 12JT Turbo tonearm included

-Optional Fortissimo arm base for adding additional 12" or 9" AMG tonearms

-Massive aluminum plinth with optional wood trim skirt in black or cherry finish

    -Dimensions: 20 5/8″ x 8″ x 12 7/16″, 56.4 lbs

GIRO MK ii Wood

Featuring all of the performance upgrades of the MK II version, the AMG Giro turntable is now being offered with a solid cherry wood under-chassis, bringing fresh looks and improved sound. The wood layer is a collaboration with a local carpenter specializing in sustainable organic woods from the Franconia region of southern Germany. The Giro MK II Wood has 20% more mass and improved energy damping due to the additional wood layer, as well as an elegant look that ties the Giro's minimalist style to that of it's older, more expensive sibling, the AMG Viella.

  • - Solid under-chassis made of sustainably sourced cherry wood

    - 12lb rim-weighted POM platter, 40% heavier than the original, for improved speed stability and vibrational control

    - Ultra-quiet Swiss-made 12v DC motor with smaller pulley for improved speed stability and increased dynamics

    - High-mass hydrodynamic lubricated bearing with redesigned two-tier sub-platter interface for better fit, improved mechanical efficiency, and quiet operation

    - Larger, higher-mass armboard for better rigidity at the tonearm mount, and allowance for wider tonearm compatibility

    - All of AMG's trademark features, including decoupled spindle/bearing structure, capacitive touch speed selection with built-in electronic speed adjustment, tonearm with patented dual-pivot bearing, AMG Reflex Clamp, and optional linear power supply upgrade

GIRO MK ii

The next generation of AMG's celebrated Giro turntable- All critical components impacting sonic performance have been updated and improved, while maintaining the elegant minimalist design, compact form factor, and precision build quality of its predecessor. With improvements to the platter, bearing, motor, pulley, electronics, and armboard, the Giro MK II sets a new standard for performance in its price class.

  • - 12lb rim-weighted POM platter, 40% heavier than the original, for improved speed stability and vibrational control

    - Ultra-quiet Swiss-made 12v DC motor with smaller pulley for improved speed stability and increased dynamics

    - High-mass hydrodynamic lubricated bearing with redesigned two-tier sub-platter interface for better fit, improved mechanical efficiency, and quiet operation

    - Larger, higher-mass armboard for better rigidity at the tonearm mount, and allowance for wider tonearm compatibility

    - All of AMG's trademark features, including decoupled spindle/bearing structure, capacitive touch speed selection with built-in electronic speed adjustment, tonearm with patented dual-pivot bearing, AMG Reflex Clamp, and optional linear power supply upgrade

TONEARMS

12J2 and 9W2 STANDARD TONEARMS

All AMG Tonearms feature patented dual-pivot bearings, which use spring steel tension rods in the vertical plane, a design invented and patented by company founder Werner Roeschlau and based off of similar designs found in helicopter rotors. This offers ultra-low friction operation, while eliminating the possibility of any bearing chatter or play, as can sometimes occur on traditional gimbal bearings tonearms. AMG tonearms all feature aluminum arm tubes, adjustable azimuth and VTA, magnetic anti-skate, and multi-stranded copper wire wound in-house. They come in both 9” and 12” lengths, and can be purchased with SME or Linn mounting adapters for use with other turntable brands.

12JT AND 9WT TURBO TONEARMS

AMG’s Turbo tonearms are an upgrade over the standard 9W2 and 12J2 tonearms. These arms have a larger, more massive bearing housing, which increases the overall efficiency of the bearing while further reducing friction and improving resonance control. They also feature thumb-screws built-in for all adjustments, so no tools are necessary to dial in your tonearm. Turbo arms also come with a 2-piece adjustable headshell plate and alignment tool. Trade-in options are available for customers who wish to upgrade from the standard to the Turbo tonearms.

UPGRADES

Clamps, power supplies, and more…

AMG offers a number of upgrades for users who wish to add certain performance elements of higher-end models to their existing AMG turntables. For example, Giro owners can add an outboard linear power supply upgrade, and Viella owners can upgrade to the Forte power supply and/or Forte clamp. Tonearm trade-in programs allow users to upgrade to the Turbo tonearms, and the Fortissimo arm base offers the option to add a second tonearm to your Viella or Forte turntable. Inquire with your dealer or Sierra Sound about which options may give you the most benefit!
